Introduction

The Inventory Optimization strategy allows users to define a minimum available inventory threshold for all the products in a Sponsored Products Classic Multi-Campaign goal. Once the inventory goes below this threshold for any of the products in any of the selected goals, Perpetua will send a recommendation to pause the ads that are serving the product.

Users can then accept the recommendation and the product will be paused across all the goals where it is present.

Once the product goes above the inventory threshold, you will also get a recommendation to enable the product. This is a great way to ensure your shoppers have the most optimal experience by not being advertised out-of-stock products. It's also important in order to continue winning the buy box because Amazon will be less likely to award it if your products are frequently unavailable due to a lack of inventory.

Factors to Consider

  • This strategy is not available for Vendor accounts.

  • It can be applied to Sponsored Products goals only. This does not include Custom or Campaign Takeover goals.

  • It may take up to 24 hours for inventory data to sync from Amazon.

Strategy-Creation Guide

1️⃣ Go to the Recommendations tab in the left sidebar (1), then locate the Strategies section (2). From the list of suggested strategies, find the "SP Inventory Optimization" strategy and click "Get Started" (3).

2️⃣ In the pop-up that appears, enter a name for your strategy and your desired inventory threshold in their respective fields. You can also pick which inventory type you'd like the recommendations applied to whether FBA, FBM, or both via the dropdown.
To select which goals you want the strategy applied to, press "Select Goals"

3️⃣Click the "Select" button next to the goal's name (1). After selecting, the goal will display the action taken (2) and will appear in the "Select Goals" list on the right side of the window. To remove it, simply click the "Remove" button (3). Once you're satisfied with your selection, click "Confirm Goals" (4) to finalize.

4️⃣ Once complete, you'll be taken back to your previous screen and can press "Create Strategy" to launch it.

A successful message will appear on the top right corner of your dashboard to confirm its creation:

💡 Creating a strategy will NOT automatically make any changes to any of your goals. This means that there is no risk in creating one to see what recommendations it provides.

When Will I Receive a Recommendation?

Perpetua will send a recommendation to the account where the strategy was created. The recommendation will advise whether to pause or enable each product included in the selected goals when the available inventory falls below the inventory threshold you’ve set for the specific inventory type.
