Introduction

Welcome Perpetua users, non-users and soon-to-be users 😉 to the Internet's very first guide to removing all third-party access to your Amazon account! After scouring the web we could not find a single manual that shows advertisers how to cut ties from all platforms so we took matters into our own hands.

If you were previously optimizing your ads using another software, it is really important to remove all third-party access to ensure that the old automation does not interfere with your Perpetua campaigns (or other software campaigns, if you are changing campaign management services). Doing so will save you a lot of trouble down the road, where software interferences can make unpredictable changes to your campaigns. Alternatively, you may want to revoke all access if you decide that you no longer want to use any advertising tools.

Connecting your Amazon account to an advertising integrator may involve connecting one or more APIs, including the Amazon Advertising API (AAA) and Selling Partner API (SP-API). We'll explain below whether each is relevant to your account type and how to disconnect each of them.

To completely disconnect an integrator, follow these 4 steps.

How to Remove All Third-Party Access To Your Account

1️⃣ Revoke Access From The Amazon Advertising API (AAA)

The Amazon Advertising API allows integrators to read and make changes to advertising campaigns for both sellers, vendors and KDP authors. This is the most important step and will apply to all advertisers!

Click here to sign in with your account, then click remove. (Click here to remove if you have a Japanese account.) Please note that if are an agency and manage multiple accounts, you may risk disconnecting the AAA for all of the accounts that you have connected to Perpetua.

Find the integrator you want to remove (e.g. ACME PPC) and click on the Remove button.

2️⃣ Disconnect Seller Partner API (SP-API)

🚨Note: This step only applies to sellers, not vendors or KDP authors.🚨

SP-API is an API that integrators use to pull retail data including product details, inventory levels and orders. It does not allow integrators to view or modify advertising campaigns, but if you want to completely disconnect access it's a good idea to complete this step as well.

  • Go to Seller Central ➡️ Settings ➡️ User Permissions.

  • Under Third-party developer and apps, click Visit Manage Your Apps

  • Find the integrator you want to remove and click Disable

Another option is to select Partner Network from the main menu, and attempt to access settings through here.

3️⃣ Remove Advertising Console Access

Some integrators or agencies may request console access or "UI" access to either your Seller Central account or Amazon advertising account. If this rings a bell, follow the steps below.

Sellers

For sellers, the best way to do this is via Seller Central.

  • Go to Seller Central ➡️ Settings ➡️ User Permissions.

  • Find the user you want to remove and click on the Delete button

Vendors and KDP Authors

For vendors and KDP Authors, this would be done via the Amazon Advertising console.

  • Go to Amazon Advertising Console ➡️ Access and settings ➡️ Users

  • Find the user you want to remove and click on the Remove user link

4️⃣ Remove Manager Account Access

Some integrators or agencies may request console access or "UI" via an Advertising Manager Account. If this rings a bell, follow the steps below. This step may apply to both sellers, vendors and authors.

  • Go to Amazon Advertising Console ➡️ Access and settings ➡️ Manager Accounts

  • Find the manager account you want to remove and click on the Remove access link
