Why Is This Feature Important?
Previously, AMC provided a 1 year lookback window for purchase data, which limited the ability to fully understand customer journeys—especially for brands with higher price point products or goods with longer buying cycles. The new 5-year lookback is particularly valuable for:
Brands selling higher price point products, where purchase decisions often have longer consideration windows and less frequent repeat purchases.
Durable goods and products with long buying cycles, where customers may only repurchase every few years.
Seasonal items and replenishable products that benefit from a comprehensive view of historic buying patterns.
With this expanded dataset, you can:
Analyze long-term customer behavior and trends that were previously invisible.
Build more accurate customer lifetime value (CLTV) metrics, identify new-to-brand customers, and spot gateway products.
Create and activate custom audiences using in-depth historical data.
Optimize advertising strategies and budget allocation based on a fuller picture of customer purchase cycles and loyalty.

How to check if your AMC instance was created by Perpetua
Go to your settings in the account and click on AMC Settings
If the AMC instance name includes Perpetua at the front, then it's created via Perpetua
How to Unlock 5 Year Retail Purchases in Perpetua
If you have your own AMC instance connected to Perpetua
Log in to AMC Console: Access your AMC instance as usual.
Navigate to Paid Features: Go to Amazon Marketing Cloud > Paid features in the AMC console.
Subscribe to Amazon Retail Purchases: Click Subscribe for the "Amazon Retail Purchases" dataset.
Notify Perpetua Support: Once subscribed, contact your Perpetua Customer Success Manager (CSM) or support team. We will connect the new dataset so it appears and is accessible in your Perpetua CLTV AMC dashboard.
If your AMC instance was created via Perpetua
Contact Perpetua Support: Reach out to your Perpetua Customer Success Manager (CSM) or support team.
We’ll Handle Subscription & Connection: The Perpetua team will subscribe your account to the Amazon Retail Purchases dataset and ensure it is connected and visible in your CLTV AMC dashboard.
🎉 Once all of the steps are complete, you'll be able to choose between 1 year and 5 year lookback windows in the CLTV AMC dashboard 🎉

Pricing and subscription details are managed in the AMC console and are billed directly to the brand by Amazon.
