Let's take a look at the Market Intelligence feature that will give you instant insight's into your competitor Brand's data.

Introduction

Prism's Market Intelligence feature consists of two subfeatures: Markets and Explorer.

In the Explorer feature, you can view the overall performance of a brand over time. Check out new competitors, analyze competitors' performance, and benchmark the best performers!

Markets in Prism allow you to create and manage your own "Market Segments." A market segment is a way to define the Amazon market you want to track and report on.

Let's take a look at Explorer first!


The Explorer Feature

You will find it under "Market Intelligence" in the Prism Tab of the Menu. Or alternatively access it here directly.



Selection of a Brand

As a first step, please choose the brand of your competitor's product. 👇


Following the selection of a Brand, you'll be directed to the following feature page:

1: The Brand name you entered.
2: The time period you have selected.
3: Your key metrics with numbers for the linear graph table.
4: The linear graph table.

5: The Product table.

Timeline

For each Brand that you have selected, you will be able to see data for the following periods: last 2/4/8/12 and 24 weeks + Last Year. Of course, you can also filter by your own custom timeframe.
The data is aggregated on a weekly level (from Sunday to Saturday) and the latest data from the previous week will be available on Tuesday). 🗓️ 👇

We will automatically select the last 8 weeks as our default time period and you will per default the key metric of Est. Sales.



The Linear Graph Table

You can add Est- Units Sold, Avg. Price & Products in the linear graph table. In this way you will be able to view a summary of the total estimated sales, total estimated units sold, price, avg. ratings, avg. reviews, and # of products that the Brand has in the entire period of the report. 📈

Up to four metrics can be selected and compared for a time period you have selected 👇

The Product Table

For each of the Brand’s products, we will report on the following data points and metrics in the “Products” table:

  • An image of the product

  • All multi-variant products will have all of their child ASIN data aggregated and their parent ASIN will be shown. All single-variant products will have the ASIN of the product shown.

  • Estimated sales, estimated units sold for the period

  • Avg. price, Avg. ratings, Avg. reviews for the period

If you click on a specific product you will see the following page which lists the performance and search terms associated with that product. 👇




The Search Terms

For any products of Prism's catalogue, we will report on the search terms that product appeared in the “Search terms table:

  • Search Terms: Search terms from Amazon Brand Analytics for which the selected ASIN is ranking in the top 100 organic results.

  • SFR: Last Week's Search Frequency Rank.

  • Organic Rank: Average organic ranking of the selected ASIN for the last week.

  • Top of Search: Detected ad placements of selected ASIN for the last week. Each keyword is checked at least 1x per week and at most 1x per day. Note that ad placements change frequently and actual numbers may differ from the detected numbers shown here.

Also, you will be able to see for which search terms you have already SP Goals targets related.

Search terms in indigo mean that you have already keywords targeting them. You can click on them and you will be redirected to the Search Term page on the "Targets & Search" feature.

If you don't have any keyword on SP Goal targeting the search term, the icon will be greyed out.




The Markets Feature

Prism's Markets feature allows you to create and manage your own "Market Segments" for your content.

Markets are a way for you to use a set of filters to create the definition of the Amazon market that you want to track and view reporting on.

To get started, you can navigate to the “Markets” page on the left nav under the Market Intelligence module. Or alternatively, access it here directly.

Then you can select “New Market” to build your new segment.

You will have the ability to use the following filters: product title, brand, price, and categories.

  • Product Title

    • Contains ALL of These Search Terms: You can use this to find products that contain any of these search terms at least once in the title of the product.

    • Contains ANY of These Search Terms: You can use this to find products that contain any of these search terms at least once in the title of the product. For example: if you want to consider “athletic” or “sport” to be similar search terms in the title of the product you are looking for. You have the ability to create multiple groups of these as you want.

    • Contains NONE of These Search Terms: You can use this to add terms that shouldn't be on the product title. This will exclude all products with these terms from the result.

It is also possible to combine your Product title filter with the rest of the filters using "AND" and "OR". 👇


Choosing "AND" or "OR" will allow you to filter by:

  • Brands: Filter to a set of brands that you would like.

  • Average Price: You can make sure the average price is within a range that you want to consider.

For the creation of your market, you can also filter by category, weekly estimated sales, average ratings, and average reviews. Additionally, you can exclude products from the result list to refine their Market manually. There is a trash icon that appears when you hover over the product:


When a product is excluded, its ASIN shows up as a pill on the last item of the filter. If the user clicks on the X button, the ASIN returns to the product list.


You can also add individual ASINS to your Market, just click "Bulk Add ASINs" and you can enter the ASINs you want to be part of the Market segment. 👇



After you have created your segment, click "Save and View Reporting".

The way that the segment works is that each week we automatically evaluate which products in our Amazon catalog meet the filter criteria. Therefore the same product can meet the filter criteria and will be included in the segment that week, but not meet the filter criteria and be excluded another week (i.e. let’s suppose its price changed beyond your segment filter).


Markets Reporting

As soon as you create your market, you will be able to view the report for that market that contains the following information:

  • Your own Reference brand. This means that you can select a brand that you would like to compare other brands to. By doing this, you will always have access to the main metrics at the top of the page, and we will highlight them on the brand graphs and table with an asterisk. Please note that you can only select brands that are currently available in the market as reference brands.

  • An overview of the market trends with graphs for the following metrics: estimated sales, estimated units sold, avg. price, # of products, avg. ratings, avg. reviews.

  • The comparison of the performance of different brands in the Market on the Brand Trends graph. This means that you can select any brand that is currently available in the market and plot it on the graph to see how it performs over time.

  • A Products table that contains each of the products that are in the segment and their relevant data points of the brand, estimated sales, est. units sold, avg. price, avg. ratings, avg. reviews

  • Finally, if you want to learn more about a particular product or brand in the Market Reporting section, simply click on it and you will be redirected to its detailed page on the explorer.

You can view this report in the following date ranges: last 2 weeks, last 4 weeks, last 8 and 12 weeks.


Managing Your Markets

You can manage your segments by being able to view, edit, and delete them.


We also show the selected reference brand of the Market and its market share percentage.

When you edit a market, you can either override the existing segment or save it as a new segment. Simply click on the three dots to edit or delete it.
