What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
Multi-Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account. When you log in, we'll send a verification code to your email. You'll need to enter this code to complete your login. This ensures that even if someone gets your password, they can't access your account without also having access to your email.
How MFA Works
Step 1: You enter your email and password as usual
Step 2: We send a verification code to your email
Step 3: You enter that code into the login page
Step 4: You're in!
It's that simple. The code is typically valid for a few minutes.
When Does MFA Go Into Effect?
MFA won't affect you right away. Here's the timeline:
You stay logged in: If you're already logged in, nothing changes. MFA only activates when you log out and log back in.
This gives you time: You don't need to worry about being locked out immediately. You have time to prepare.
Important: Make Sure You Can Access Your Email
Since you'll need to receive verification codes via email, make sure the email address on your account is one you currently have access to and can receive messages from.
What If You Can't Access Your Login Email?
If you no longer have access to the email address linked to your account, don't worry. Here are your options:
Option 1: Create a New Account (Recommended)
Create a new user account using an email you currently have access to
Ask someone on your team to add your new account as a team member to all the accounts/workspaces you need
Option 2: We Can Help
If no one on your team can add you as a member, contact our support team via chat or email (success@perpetua.io)
We can add you to your accounts, but we'll need to verify your identity first
This takes a bit longer, but we're here to help
