Introduction
The Adjust Bid Based on Competitor Product Signals rule enables you to automatically optimize bids on competitor ASINs that you are already targeting.
By setting rules based on key signals—such as when a competitor loses the Buy Box, becomes unavailable to 'Buy Now', or changes price—you can respond dynamically to market conditions and better capitalize on opportunities.
Factors to Consider
Supported Ad Type: Supports all Sponsored Products goals.
Limits: This template allows up to 3 rules, with a maximum of 30 goals per rule, to control the number of competitor ASINs being tracked.
The rule can be configured to trigger when a competitor's ASIN:
Has no Featured Offer (e.g. no Buy Box winner)
Is unavailable to 'Buy Now'
Experiences a price increase or decrease
💡 For both “No Featured Offers” and “Not Available to Buy Now,” the rule verifies that the ASIN has remained in that state continuously for the past 5 hours, ensuring it wasn’t just a brief or temporary change.
By default, the top 10 competitor ASIN targets within each goal are automatically tracked, and this list updates dynamically as performance changes
💡 Top ASINs: These refer to the 10 competitor ASINs per goal within the rule with the highest sales.
To switch the rule to target brand (owned) ASINs, use the “Restrict to ASIN” field during the rule creation process
How to Apply
1️⃣ From your account, navigate the left-side panel and click on the "Rules" tab (1), go to the "Create Rule" tab (2), and access the "Adjust Bids based on Competitor's Product Signals" tile (3) from the dashboard
2️⃣ Assign a name to the rule (1) and select the goal/s (2) you'd like to apply to it
🚨 Note 🚨
Sponsored Products is the only ad type supporting this feature.
3️⃣ In the Rule settings, specify how often this Rule will run (enter a value between 1 and 30). The recommended frequency is set to a daily review.

💡 Duration: We recommend the duration be the same as or less than the rule frequency
5️⃣ Action Settings
Restrict to ASINs
Exclude ASINs
Add competitor ASINs you want to exclude from this rule.
