Introduction

The Benchmarker will give you a clear picture of your Amazon PPC performance by comparing your performance objectives metrics (ACoS, CPC, click-through rate, and conversion rate) to your true competitors:

  • on Amazon,

  • in your sub-category,

  • and according to ad format (Sponsored Products or Sponsored Brands).


The Benchmarker report can highlight product-specific growth potential and show you how to make the most of the Perpetua software.


About the Benchmarks

The benchmarks used in the Benchmarker are based on an extensive internal study involving $2.5 billion in anonymized and aggregated Amazon PPC ad revenue across 170,000 products and 20,000 product categories.

To ensure accuracy, the data is carefully screened for statistical significance and biases. Instead of relying on averages that can be distorted by outliers, we use medians by percentile. This rigorous methodology makes our benchmarks the most accurate in the industry.

When you choose your category before integrating your account, it's specifically for your Sponsored Brands campaigns, as Sponsored Products categories are dynamically determined by your ASIN data.

If you need to change your selected category, you can request a new report with a different selection.

To ensure precise analysis, the Benchmarker includes only data for ASINs, campaigns, ad groups, or targets that have had at least one impression in the previous period.

We are confident that our benchmarks provide reliable and valuable insights for optimizing your Amazon PPC campaigns.

Why do I need to connect my Amazon Advertising account?

In order to complete the sign-up process, you need to log into your Amazon Advertising account. Once you log in, this will allow us to retrieve the necessary data to analyze your account, show related benchmarks, and calculate your growth potential. This also enables us to generate monthly custom Benchmarker reports for you.

We understand and do not take lightly, the responsibility that comes with handling your data. Our team makes considerable efforts to ensure the highest security standards possible. Rest assured that we will never share your Amazon PPC data with a third party for any reason. If you have any additional questions on this, please reach out to your Data Strategist or our Support team.

Does the Benchmarker make any changes to my advertising data?

No, the Benchmarker does not make any changes to your advertising data. The Amazon Advertising integration asks for this permission when you sign up, but the Benchmarker does not make use of it.

How do I read my Benchmarker report?

To get the most out of your Benchmarker report, we recommend consulting the user guide - where we’ll walk you through the most common use cases that will help you improve your account.

Can I use the Benchmarker to track my Amazon PPC progress?

Absolutely! You’ll receive your first follow-up report in one month, and a fresh one each month after that. Of course, you can opt out at any time.

After signing up you will receive your first report within 24 hours.

How many reports can I get?

There's currently a limit to one account per unique email address.

Each account/marketplace requires its own email address. For example, if you are adding the Canadian marketplace, edit your email address by adding "+ca" to make it unique (name+ca@examplecompany.com)

Please note that you will always get a report for the last calendar month. Requesting a new report before the current month has passed will not create an updated report.

Is there a way for me to disconnect my data?

Yes, you can control Amazon Advertising access inside your Amazon account, however please note that this will automatically discontinue future Benchmarker reports from being delivered to you.
