What is Stream Reporting?

Using the Stream Reporting Beta feature on Perpetua, you can now view weekly, daily and hourly trends on your campaign performance data.

🚨 Note: This feature currently supports Sponsored Products & Brand goals. 🚨

Providing access to data on this level of granularity gives Perpetua users the superpower to optimize dayparting schedules. Perpetua's Stream Reporting can be used in conjunction with our Stream Optimization feature to decrease or increase bids during certain times of the day.

The Stream Reporting Beta can be found on the left side menu. This dashboard offers the ability to view the average of any advertising metric across a 30-day period. For example, if I select January 1st using the date picker at the upper right corner of the screen, then the data points are displaying averages from January 1st to January 31st.

The average can be broken down by day of week, time of day, or both. Users have the option to filter by account or by campaigns. These new capabilities will display as drop-down menus above our usual dashboard (ie. the graph and tiles). If the user views data by the day of the week and time of day, the regular graph will be replaced by a heat map for better visualisation.

Darker colours shown on the heat map represent higher values.

How To Configure The Dashboard

To choose which data you want to see, select options from the three drop-down menus at the top.

  1. The drop-down menu on the left allows you to filter by Campaigns, Goals, and Account.

🚨Note: If you'd like to plot data from Custom Goals, set the "filter by" column to goals rather than campaigns. 🚨

  2. The drop-down menu in the middle allows you to select your ad type.

  3. The drop-down menu on the right allows you to pick the particular campaign, goal or account you want to see data for. Note that this is only applicable to Sponsored Product goals.

  4. The drop-down menu in the Aggregate Performance dashboard allows you to choose to view data by:

    1. day of week

    2. time of day

    3. both day of the week and time of day

Note: Hourly data is shown in the timezone of your region/marketplace. For options a and b, you will see a graph with trend lines. For option c, you will see a heat map.

How To Interpret The Heat Map

Darker colours (ie. purple shades higher in intensity) on the heat map represent higher values. The legend is shown in the upper right corner (marked by the black box below).

On the horizontal axis at the bottom (marked by the green box), the columns of the grid are labelled by day of the week: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

On the vertical axis to the left (marked by the orange box), you can see the hour starting at 12 AM.

Why Am I Seeing Negative Values?

Amazon may send some negative values in the first few days that an account is subscribed to Stream data. This is normal and should stop within 2-3 days of first signing up for Stream data. After a week, all data should aggregate to a net positive value.

Important Notes for Sponsored Brand Goals

Both SBv3 and SBv4 campaigns can be used in dayparting schedules, however, Stream reporting currently only supports data for SBv4 campaigns. For this reason, you may notice discrepancies between the metrics in the Sponsored Brands tab and the Stream reporting tab.
